Old Navy 40% off coupon

Okay, so I didn't blog while I was on vacation - sorry, it was too hard and not enough time. I think I will post a trip report but may just link to this blog.

However, just found an Old Navy coupon for 40% single item that expires on September 18:

Tripit.com

With only 5 days to go before we leave for our Peru trip, we're basically all ready! Well I'm practically packed and Shaun will be ready this weekend after some laundry.

I found a great tool last month while looking for a way to organize all the details to our trip. While I was using excel originally, I found Tripit on one of the websites I visited. It's an easy way to create an itinerary of your travel details, e.g. flights and hotels and then not only have access to it online but be able to share it with loved ones while you're away.

Once I set up my account, all I had to do was email my confirmations and the details populated in the trip. Once your info is there, flight information such as departure time is updated automatically and there's a feature to see which seat you've actually selected. My only gripe with it is that it didn't support some of my travel confirmations that were in Spanish but the info can be still entered in manually and flight information will still be updated if the flight number is entered in.

While I don't do much business travel anymore, it would be great to organize work stuff all in one place. With this vacation, I've printed off my itinerary and can check online at the plethora of cheap internet cafes in Peru if I need to reference it.

I'll hopefully be blogging regularly while in Peru, ideally with some pictures!

I Heart New York

I'm off for a whirlwind weekend in NYC. Shaun's already there for work and I'm joining him for the weekend. A very short weekend with a flight back Sunday afternoon. Hearing its HOT there... but nothing beats spending time in NYC.

The race is today in Streetsville and I hope we don't pass out! Given my lack of running for the last while, I'm only attempting the 5K.

First Anniversary weekend

2 more days and its our 1 year wedding anniversary! Can't believe how cold it's been compared to last year. Anyway, we weren't planning anything and Honda invited Shaun to an event this weekend and I'm invited too! A couples event to test out the new four cylinder Accord.

We're driving up to the Muskokas and staying at Windermere House on Lake Rousseau. We're looking forward to a weekend away to celebrate our first year of marriage.

I'm a disappointing blogger... A year later

I can't believe its been almost a year since we got married and the last time I really blogged!

Wow, what a year it has been!

Shortly after coming back from my honeymoon, my job was eliminated. I really enjoyed the company but with the restructuring and changes, they no longer needed campus recruiting. I knew this going into the wedding and honeymoon but I pushed it out of mind during the celebrations.

My severance was for 3 months so that actually bought me some time off and I had most of the summer off - in hindsight, it was a great time to be off and a good time to enjoy married life with Shaun. We were able to go to Atlantic City and visit my friend Jen for a weekend in NYC right before I started working again.

In August, I started a new recruiting job. What a change! Working back in the downtown core and taking the GO train. In a couple words, the company wasn't for me and I knew a couple months in that I needed to get outta there. For someone who actually enjoys stability and loyalty with companies (5 years with the first and 2 years with the last), this was a change for me. I lasted 7 months!

Fast forward to April 2008, I was able to find an amazing new job, really close to home and that has a wondering working environment.

This summer is going to be busy and will lead up to Shaun and my next adventure: climbing Machu Picchu in Peru in September! Meanwhile, I've got an engagement party, bridal shower and bachelorette party planning for my bff.

They say, if you write down your goals, you're more likely to attain them so here it is in black and white - or whatever colour my background and font colour is, I'll be updating this more regularly, at least once a week. You can hold me to this!

Stay tuned for what's next...
